Computed Tomography (CT) uses an X-ray tube and multiple detectors to provide incredibly rapid imaging of your anatomy. You will be asked to lie on a table in the middle of the ring while the scan is taken. Nothing will touch you during the scan. Our 160 slice Toshiba Prime has dose reduction technology that ensures the lowest possible radiation dose is used while still achieving high resolution images.
The speed and technology of our scanner leads to:
- Lower patient radiation doses
- Greater comfort for the patient as they don’t need to hold a breath or position for an extended period of time
- Ability to image entire organs in fewer rotations
The 160-slice machine also has a wide bore allowing greater access for procedures and an ability to scan larger patients and minimising claustrophobic effects.
